Acordo entre Mast e museu britânico traz ao Rio exposição sobre impressoras 3D

O Museu de Astronomia e Ciências Afins (Mast), localizado em São Cristóvão, na zona norte do Rio de Janeiro, vai receber a exposição 3D: Imprimindo o Futuro, apresentada com sucesso em museus da Inglaterra. Com estreia prevista para maio de 2017, a vinda da mostra ao museu carioca marca a primeira ação do acordo de cooperação firmado hoje (24) entre o Mast e o Museu de Ciências de Londres.

A instituição, vinculada ao Ministério da Ciência, Tecnologia, Inovações e Comunicações, recebeu nesta quinta-feira a visita do diretor do museu britânico, Jonathan Newby, que participou, ao lado da diretora do Mast, Heloisa Maria Bertol Domingues, da cerimônia de assinatura do acordo.

Exibida em Londres e no Museum of Science and Industry de Manchester, a exposição 3D: Imprimindo o Futuro reúne 600 peças que revelam como as impressoras 3D têm inspirado o futuro do design.

“As pessoas poderão ver como os objetos feitos nesses equipamentos já são utilizados no cotidiano, seja na construção de brinquedos ou em complexos protótipos para usos médicos e industriais”, disse Newby. Além de conhecer as peças da coleção, visitantes de todas as idades poderão criar seus próprios objetos e olhar de perto o funcionamento das impressoras.

Durante a cerimônia desta quinta-feira, a diretora do Mast destacou a importância do acordo de cooperação para o museu brasileiro, criado em 1985 e voltado para a divulgação e a história da ciência e da tecnologia. “A expectativa de ambas as instituições é que essa exposição seja a primeira de muitas atividades que realizaremos em conjunto daqui para frente”, disse Heloisa Bertol Domingues.
